Four pistons. 75 grams. Not a typo.
Four-piston calipers are supposed to be the heavy option. The ETF is not. At 75 g it weighs less than the two-piston caliper that ships on top-spec groupsets, while giving you far more pad contact.
That is what obsessive CNC work looks like: every gram that carried no load is gone, and everything that remains is arranged around the braking force.
Carved from one billet. No casting.
Most calipers are cast: molten aluminium poured into a mould, two halves bolted together. Cheap, fast, and less stable when the temperature climbs. The ETF starts as a European high-purity 6061 aluminium billet and is machined from that one block. No mould lines, no joint, no weak point.
The denser material also takes anodising better: the colour goes on evenly, saturates fully and stays. What you see is not a coating, it is the material itself.
Heat is guided, not blocked.
Your legs put the energy in. Braking does not make it disappear, it converts it. Every bit of speed you shed becomes heat, and two parts you could hold in one hand have to absorb all of it.
Most calipers use phenolic pistons to keep that heat away from the body. The heat has nowhere to go, so it builds in the pad until the surface glazes and the brake fades. Our pistons are solid 7075 aluminium: they pull heat away from the pad and into the body, so the whole caliper becomes a cooling surface. The rotor does its own share through surface area and airflow. Two parallel paths, no hand-off.
Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo. Your call.
The ETF is a full hydraulic caliper for hydraulic road levers. It comes in a mineral oil version for Shimano and Campagnolo systems and a DOT version for SRAM, so it drops into the groupset you already own.
Inside, the fluid path was redesigned so that air has nowhere to hide during bleeding. Follow the routing and bleed procedure and the lever comes back firm, crisp and immediate. Your mechanic will enjoy fitting it.
Stop blending in.
A caliper is not a black lump hiding beside the frame. It is part of the bike's design. Six anodised colours with zero colour shift: Black, Red, Gold, Purple, Blue and Teal. Match the RT01Z rotor spider and the whole braking system reads as one piece.
Sold as a single caliper. Order two for front and rear, tell us your rotor sizes and drivetrain, and we will make sure the adapter and fluid version are right.
